Partnering Opportunities

Create Labs is a great way to get involved in missions while making use of your particular skill-sets. If you’re interested in joining Labs, or our wider community here in Chiang Mai, you’re on the right page!

Different opportunities for different people!

Our team, as well as the greater community we belong to, allows for some interesting ways to join Create International. Below you’ll find a variety of ways you can join. Be sure to have a look around, as each opportunity is quite distinct, with its own elements and requirements.

Staff with Labs

We currently have staffing positions open.

Join our Community

Create Labs belongs to and plays host to a wider community of Create International Staff. This allows our members to join a specific team, world-wide, while still being a part of a community of believers who pray, serve, and work together.

Internships

Labs is currently able to host a number of interns each year. You can currently learn more by getting in contact with us.

Full-time and part-time Staff

Our primary goal with Labs is to serve our international teams. Because of this, the majority of people who end up approaching us usually end up joining one of our international teams. If you’re a filmmaker, animator, writer, or designer, our recommendation will likely be to join one of these teams. If you’re unsure, be sure to get in touch with us, and we can walk you through the process, as well as provide information on each of our teams.

That being said, Labs is currently open to new staff. If you’re interested in research, providing IT help, website design, media training, developing new tools, or member care, then we’d love to hear from you. We currently accept those who have completed a YWAM Discipleship School as “Team Staff”, and those who have not as “Community Staff”. You can learn more about those distinctions below if you’d like.

The Chiang Mai Create Community

Chiang Mai, Thailand hosts a number of different staff from across multiple Create teams. In order to encourage greater levels of community building, prayer, and more ways to serve together, the Create Chiang Mai Community was created. This Community is an umbrella for those that wish to serve on one of our international Teams, but want a more robust in-person community that they can belong to.

Our Community meets regularly (usually once a week) for prayer, as well as occasionally participates in outreach through things like teaching English, hosting DTS outreaches, or reaching out to our local Thais.

Anyone in Chiang Mai who works as any kind of Staff on any Create Team can join our Community.

Staffing Differences

Create International actually has three different Staffing roles available to individuals – Team Staff, Community Staff, and Associate Staff. Each of these Staffing roles has unique requirements, but allow us to accommodate staff in a variety of different ways. All of our Staff share the same Create Values and are heavily invested in our broad goals and vision. Associate Staff is an invite-only position. Below, you can find the primary differences between our Team Staff and Community Staff roles:

Team Staff Community Staff
In order to join Team Staff, you must have completed a YWAM Discipleship Training School. Community Staff do not need to have completed a Discipleship Training School. Because of this, Community Staff aren’t able to lead Create Teams.
Team Staff can be full-time or part-time. Each team has different hourly requirements for their Team Staff. Community Staff can work in a variety of different formats, including serving for significantly reduced hours per week, or even working on a single project at a time.
It is usually required that Team Staff have completed one of our Create Training schools or seminars. Community Staff are not required to have undergone Create Training, though do still go through significant onboarding to introduce them to our wider Create ministry.
Our Team staff are directly accountable to Team leaders. Community Staff are often accountable to a ministry or organisation outside of our Create structures.
Volunteers. As with most YWAMers, Team Staff are not paid a salary, and instead work as volunteers. Most of our staff meet their financial needs by partnering with friends and churches who support their ministry. Although Community Staff are not paid by Create, they are able to work outside of the ministry while serving on our teams.
